sir, yes sir

Griffin usually goes to bed around 8:00. He's kind of like our sleep champion. You lay him down in his crib, and he goes to sleep. No fuss, no muss.

Except tonight, he started asking his dad during bathtime if he could sleep in the Big Bed, which means our bed.

Dad said yes.

Huh!

So at 7:30, Griffie turns to me and says "big bed?"

Going to bed early? Who am I to complain? I carried him up, laid him down on N's side and lay down next to him. I swear to you, he didn't move again or make another sound.

Except for this one time. When I thought he was fast asleep and I sat up to look at his face, but it was so dark I was just peering into the darkness. And out of the darkness, I heard this tiny voice implore:

"Lay down."

Yes, sir. I laid back down.
