This is a letter my mom wrote to her parents when she was nine or ten years old.

Dear Sirs,
I don't like to say this persnol because I'm a little shy when it comes to money. I was wondering if I could have my allowance raised because it is time to get xmas presents for the family and cousins. The most I want is 10c more.
